Why CoCounsel Legal has no monthly figure

Thomson Reuters's store prints no CoCounsel Legal price before a form that asks for sector, number of attorneys, jurisdiction and preferred plan length. Online pricing is for new customers only, and plans run 1, 2 or 3 years, with the 2-year and 3-year plans offering better value than 1 year. Firms with more than 10 attorneys are told to contact a sales rep.

CoCounsel Legal bundles full access to Westlaw Advantage, Practical Law Dynamic Tool Set and CoCounsel Essentials, and its product page offers a free trial and a free demo by request. The side-by-side with CaseRead is in CoCounsel vs CaseRead.

CaseRead: published prices and a citation screen

CaseRead prints its Lite, Pro and Team prices on one page. Lite is $15 a month with 20 research questions a month; Pro adds deep research, AI drafting and a Word editor with tracked changes; Team adds shared projects and client upload portals. Billed yearly, Pro drops to $119 a month and Team to $159 per seat a month, a cut CaseRead calls about 20%.

Its Hallucination Shield is, by CaseRead's own description, not a citator, and its terms make the attorney solely responsible for verifying each citation. Among these options, CaseRead's Pro and Team plans begin with a 7-day trial. CaseRead pricing explains the allowance and the seat rules.

Westlaw Edge with AI-Assisted Research and Lexis+ with Protégé

Westlaw Edge with AI-Assisted Research starts at $155.35 a month for single-circuit coverage and $266.50 a month for all states and federal coverage, both on a 3-year term, for new customers at firms of up to 10 attorneys. It includes AI-Assisted Research and AI Jurisdictional Surveys. The Westlaw alternatives page sets out the Advantage prices too.

Lexis+ with Protégé (formerly Lexis+ AI) is quoted by firm size and content scope, with no public amount. Shepard's Verify checks citations in AI responses, documents and drafts, and confirms the status and treatment of authorities. Its page offers a 2-day free trial through a form, so it is the pick for a firm that wants a citator and will accept a quote.

Paxton, NexLaw and Clearbrief

Paxton Individual is $499 per user a month or $2,999 per user a year, with a 7-day free trial and billing chosen at sign-up. NexLaw is annual only, per license, with no minimum seats and a 5-day trial on request. Clearbrief runs inside Word and says it checks citations to law and facts without generative AI and does no legal research, so it pairs with a research tool.
