CaseRead free trial: which plans have one
The CaseRead trial lasts 7 days and applies to Pro and Team only. After it, Pro is $149 a month paid monthly or $119 a month billed yearly, and Team is $199 or $159 per seat a month on those two bases, as read on November 4, 2026. Lite is $15 a month from the day you choose it.
The Pro and Team sign-up pages carry the line "7-day trial, card required". CaseRead's pricing page gives Pro and Team a 7-day trial; its affiliate page says a signup through a referral link or code gets a 30-day trial instead, and does not say whether that covers Lite.

Screen a brief with CaseRead →What you can use free without a trial
The demo is free and needs no account. The Hallucination Shield check runs without a sign-up or a credit card: each visitor gets 2 checks a day, and an email unlocks full detail past the first 3 citations. Citations past the 50th in a run are never looked up, so run a long brief in parts.
The free check reads each cited source against the sentence that cites it. It is a screen, not a citator, and CaseRead's terms leave every citation for the attorney to verify. For privileged material, CaseRead asks you to contact it first. Other legal citation checker options are compared on their own page.
When the CaseRead trial ends
Plans renew automatically and fees are non-refundable except where the law requires, so check the renewal date before you choose a plan. CaseRead's terms also say trial lengths and the AI usage included with a plan are not fixed and may change, and trials carry a smaller monthly allowance than a paid seat. The pricing page states no money-back guarantee.
The amounts after the trial, the seat prices and the allowance rules are set out in CaseRead pricing, and what each plan includes is in the CaseRead review.
Trials at Paxton, NexLaw and Lexis
Paxton offers a 7-day free trial; you pick monthly or annual billing at sign-up, and the Individual plan continues on that billing after the trial. NexLaw lists a 5-day trial on request. Lexis+ with Protégé (formerly Lexis+ AI) offers a 2-day free trial through a form, and CoCounsel Legal shows "Request free trial" on its product page. Clearbrief's pricing page states no trial.
Pick Paxton for a 7-day free trial with billing chosen at sign-up, and Lexis+ with Protégé for a 2-day trial of a platform with Shepard's Verify. Pick CaseRead for a month-to-month Lite plan at $15 a month with no trial, or a 7-day Pro trial.
